Many of you know me (Chris Johnson) as CEO of The Johnson Group a staffing and recruiting company. 

However I wanted to take the time to talk about my passion.  My passion is inspiring kids and teaching them life skills through the game of basketball.

That's why in 2010, I created the Chris Johnson Basketball Academy, CJBA

 CJBA is basketball company that provides basketball camps, weekly basketball academy, Tyreke Evans Basketball Camp, basketball clinics, and AAU competitive travel team.  When I started CJBA in 2010 we provided our first camp and I expected about 40 kids, however in our very first camp we had over 100 kids attend.  CJBA now impacts over 500 kids per year!


CJBA are very important in our community:

• Teaches the values of teamwork, work ethic, and integrity

• Better health

• Building leaders

Studies show that kids who participate in sports attend school more, are more community and civic minded, get in less trouble, and tend to be more successful in the workplace. 

When I grew up my dad a military veteran and Sr. Special Agent for the federal government taught me "order."  More importantly, at an early age I learned the concept of "In Order":

"In order" for me to play basketball I needed to maintain a GPA of 3.0.

"In order" for me to become successful in life I needed to focus, work hard, and be persistent.

"In order" for me to be blessed, I needed to be a blessing to others.

Kids understand the concept of "In order" and that's what I teach in our program.
